REMOVING FACELIFT BUMPER

Postby AL » Tue Jul 12, 2005 4:26 pm

im removing the bumper to properly repair a few scrapes and dents which just arrived  , everything was going well up to now there are two locator pins or dowels, not too sure as i can't get at them too easily, one on each side they hold the bumper to the front wings, is there a knack to getting these off.

ive not jacked car up, should i ?

the pins are yellow, any help welcome :?

The procedure for removing the facelift should be same as the classic bumper, the loactor pins you're talking about aren't fixed in place and should come out easily enough. Ideally you would want to have the car up on axel stands with the front wheels removed, it makes it much easier to access all of the bolts and screws.

i know the two pins you're talking about and they are a bit of a mare to get to, i used a long flat head screw driver to get at it, the bumper is plastic and with everything else removed first you should get a bit of play in it!
definitely jack the car up onto axel stands!
