Radio harness loose connection

Postby Mustang » Thu Mar 10, 2005 12:13 pm

I have an OEM spec single din head unit in my car. The connector at the back has developed a loose connection, which causes a loss of sound from the drivers side speaker. The sound comes and goes affected by bumps in the road :x I've pulled the centre console apart and even the slightest amount of pressure applied to the female connector plugged into the back of the radio causes the sound to return. I've tried plugging and unplugging the connector, which has not yielded a permanent fix. Having unplugged the connector, I examined it and no obvious signs of a loose connection. Even if there was, I'm not sure how I'd go about sorting it, manipulating the individual wires of the plastic connector looks tricky. Any thoughs?

Sounds like you already know what to do ;)

It could also be a problem with the connector radio side. The only other thing that comes to mind is an unisolated live feed.
