JVC head unit anyone?

Postby CJ » Tue Dec 07, 2004 2:20 pm

Does anyone have a relatively recent JVC head unit with a JVC CD changer? I need to test a changer thats displaying problems and I want to rule out head unit incompatibility.

I have a new JVC head + changer sitting in a box at home, well my Dad bought it off me but there's one sitting there at the moment...

If you ever install the pair Kev let me know, I reckon my changer has a mechanical problem but it would be nice to try it with another head unit if all else fails.

The changer (JVC CH-X200) generates a 'Reset 2' and 'Reset 4' at the head unit which, according to the manual, refers to a 'lifter error' and a 'pick up returning error'. Also, the magazine will not eject. It could be a multitude of problems such as belts, gears or CPU, but I'm really not sure. Dpitz, if your mate can shed any light on the above errors, I'd be grateful.

CJ, How long have you been listening to the same CD's?

Seriously though, check out this link. It's starts by discussing a reset 3 error, but goes on to describe a problem similar to yours.

Mustang, you've obviously been inputting the same search string into Google that I am, I came across this one the other day ;) Thanks anyway :)
