I use a long nosed vice grips or pliars to wind back the rear pistons, works a treat. Just be careful not to take chunks out of the piston face.

it's an easy enough job if you have the tools
some of the bolts might be stuck . WD40 is your friend

What those two said :-)

Long nosed pliers are super for the job.. and if it's a bit "sticky" WD40 is indeed your friend :-)

Worn rear brakes can make a huge difference...amazingly enough - I replaced mine recently and I was quite shocked by the result. Not a difficult job - can be slightly dirty tho.

Thanks lads much appreciated goina give it a go soon,, long nose vice-grips is about 15 euro for a decent one and the piston wind back tool is only 30(probly a rubish one),, reckon i'll fork out the extra 15 bills and soak the bolts over nite as the front ones were hard as hell to break free  . infact i couldnt get one of the 17mm bolts off the front Caliper Body so after hammering it, boiling water and tons of WD40 it still didnt budge!! so with just the top bolt off i saw that the caliper hinged down with a tap of a rubber mallet, just disconected the break pipe holding pin so it could hinge,,i reckon this was a bit less efford than taking off the second bolt anyway :D . probly a stupid question but does any1 know y they just don't make the back breaks the same as the front,? wud make my life a whole lot easy'r :P

i'll give you 2 reasons

1) cost

2) As it would be overkill they do not need to be as big as the fronts as the fronts take upto 70% of the breaking compared to the rears. so they usuall fit smaller ones to the rears, which tie's in with reason 1 above.
