Extreme Sports

Postby Dragonheart » Fri Mar 28, 2008 6:08 pm

Anyone do any extreme sports? I'm getting to that age where I get bored very easily and need something dramatic to enhance my life! Not a good swimmer, in fact, cant swim, as I discovered when I jumped off a pier in Crete 2 years ago, so water sports are out. Also dont want to be paying a fortune every time I do it, so anything that involves jumping out a plane is out. Was thinking of something like rock climbing, but other than that its fairly limited in Ireland!

Hmm, seen that parkour on a few sites, that would be pretty cool, and useful I'd imagine. Dont think its very popular in cork though.

How about diving? not very extreme, but interesting nonetheless. no ability to swim required.

EDIT: just realised this is fodder for gfalls and Bernard...

How about roofball ?

Quite straightforward really

Or my own personal favourite - http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4650541658444434438

Surely you don't need to be able to swim to do this 8)

I play rugby and scuba dive in my spare time. Thats extreme enough for me!

PajEvo and JayVR on here are my rugby playing and dive buddies.

Tried to get CJ into the diving at the Kenmare meet a couple of years back but he wasn't having any of it despite his brave attempts to give it a lash!

Would make for another excellent meet though - my favorite meet to date -

I still reckon you'd be better off with a nice cup of tea though.

Scuba diving eh? I'd be a natural diver, its the coming back up is the problem. Would love to do snowboarding but thats limited to only a couple of times a year cause of holidays, and the whole having to go away to do it properly thing.
