sensor on back of inlet manifold

sensor on back of inlet manifold

does contol idle in any way? its the on the inlet manifold driver side at the rear held on with 3 allen key bolts with 3 plugs on. and has the cog and screw in it. done ma timing belt so had to take it off and its idling a bit too high now. has this any affect on this?

I would say its more likely the TB cable just needs to be adjusted...
