Shock absorbers

Failed MOT on front shocks, so looking at my options,

Should I put in standard, or replace all 4 with better ones? Is so, what ones?

Should I lower it at the same time?

What would you do?

False economy buying second hand ones.
If you were thinking of lowering them, noes your times seems the shocks will be off.

I would go with a Gas shock and Sport sprind set up (to your requirments) mine would be kyb shocks and hardened springs lowered 30mm front 10mm rear... mmmmmm rake
Btw i have no experience with fto's but i did set up my bmw with a 60mm front 40mm rear drop on hardened springs with maxi gaz shocks, and after a wekk to let them settle the car felt even more like a go kart than before!! Perfect!

KYB shocks are popular here, I've had them on one of my FTO's, and combined with Apexi springs are a nice combo. As per Richards comments, will definitely give your car a more go-kart like fell over standard setup, but not too hard in my opinion (but thats a personal taste).

I think its worth upgrading to the KYB's, and if I had the money, I'd do the springs too.

average uk price for kyb shocks for an fto are
front: £70-80 each
rear: £40-50 each

Spring set: £80-200 depending on brand, strength, stiffness etc..

so a new lot would come to about £300 for lowest price or up to £460 for most expensive...
It depends if the ones in the pics are used or new and what type of springs are on them!
