a battery for FTO (uprated one) is anywhere from 50 - 65 euro depending where you go.

Standard replacement battery is the same as the one designed for the Nissan Micra. Use this opportunity to get a higher output unit and upgrade the terminals to suit.

The price of lead has risen in recent times, car batteries are that bit more expensive these days as a result.

Batteries in the Mirca have similar output the the FTO stock unit. Any time I've changed a battery in an FTO, I've used a bigger unit and upgraded the terminals.

I bought the largest battery I could find in halfords..

I made it fit..

As long as you make sure the battery isn't too tall - you can make stuff fit with hammers and brute force..

Remember to get the terminals though - the factory ones aren't up to much..

Got them in Halfords ... cheap and cheerful.. broke one while I fitted it cause I was being a spanner.. I think they were like 3-4 euros each.. prolly even cheaper up north..

The original connectors are a pita to get off, ended up using a hacksaw. They are worth replacing though, found my negative one in particular was literally falling apart.
