Champagne Facelift - official cocktail of FTO-Ireland

Postby CJ » Wed Jun 24, 2009 11:29 am

Sebs 'Champagne Facelift' spotted post gave me a fun idea -

Are you a barman or budding barman (or barwoman for that matter)? If so, post up a recipe for a 'Champagne Facelift' cocktail, the soon to be offical drink of the Irish FTO Owners Club! The rules are simple:

1. It must contain champagne (sparkling wine may be used in recessionary times)
2. Ingredients must be readily available in most bars
3. It must not taste poxy (i.e. cannot contain Beamish or Buckfast)

Lets vote on the entries with a view to getting out the cocktail shaker at the next meet / drinks opportunity.

OK, having been to a few meets/sessions I'd say the following would appeal to most members.

1/ One (mandatory) shot of champagne.
2/ Fill all remaining room in the container with whatever alcoholic beverage is readily available...
3/ Serve with a packet of dry roasted peanuts, while talking ad nauseam about the benefits of Mivec

Rim the edge of a wine glass with rubbing compound, pour 3/4 tablespoon of well boiled Amsoil ATF into the glass, and top with champagne.

The resulting gag effect will tense your temples followed by a toxic shock which, if you get the angle right - will tighten the deeper tissues in the face causing a pleasant lifting effect.

Champagne, Guinness (as its what seems to be mostly drank at the night over meets), topped off with a load of talking sh1te at 4 in the morning, with a chaser of a good vid of a load of drunken bums falling around the place and jumping all over the place, singing christmas songs (in August!!)!!!
Sound familar?! Bernard? Colm? Chris? Adam? (And I might have had a minor part to play in that too...... )

OK heres my real recipe, to be served in a champagne flute,
1 - Champagne (represents Silver and Champagne FTOs)
2 - 1/2 shot Malibu (represents white FTOs)
3 - 1/2 shot Smirnoff Vodka red label (represents red FTOs)
4 - 1/2 shot Blue Curacao (represents blue FTOs)
5 - 1/2 shot of green Chartreuse (represents green FTOs)
6 - 1/2 shot of Goldschlager (represents yellow FTOs)
7 - Topped off with coke (represents black FTOs)

Champagne, About half the glass..
Double shot of Vodka
Dash of Orange Juice
Dash of Grenadine if available

.. It's Yummy .. I swear..

If you're feeling like making it nasty for whatever reason, maybe you're serving it to somebody you dont like - or maybe you just feeling like activating your gag reflex.. simply replace vodka with tequila (cheaper is better) and grenadine with Baileys... not so yummy any more..

This looks like the best suggestion yet, as much as I like the all inclusive nature of Martys cocktail, it has the potential to put you in hospital...

you're realistically looking at drinking these out of pint glasses.

Not to mention the curdling factor!! I've seen a fella showing off to a girl one night in a bar, he ordered a vodka and a baileys and threw them in the same glass, within seconds he was left with a lumpy mess, and had to drink it cause he was bragging to her before how nice it was! I served him and stood and watched with an evil grin while he drank it at the same time trying not to hurl!

I suppose mine is more 'a pint of sh1t' really than a 'Champagne Facelift'.

The curdle rocks...

in Denmark it used to be popular to hot a shot of "Roses Lime" in your mouth, then add a Baileys and gargle...
..oddly mainly girls did this!

We used to play "hide the curdle" behind the bar when serving colleagues... mask it so much that you dont actually see it, but ofcourse you feel it as you take the first sip... yucky..

Not to mention the curdling factor

The same thing happens when you mix Baileys and Smirnoff Ice. It actually doesn't taste too bad (from what I can recall) until it turns into something that would be best discribed as a milkshake/malt at first, then it turns into something like Angel Delight.
Myself and a mate did it one night and we still laugh about it till this day. We ended up drinking/eating it by sticking our fingers in and licking it off (leave no drink behind). The funny thing was we were both bursting for a pee and usually you wouldn't leave a drink lying around as someone would swipe it, but in this case we knew no one would touch them.

1/2 gls of Champagne
1/2 bottle of West Coast Cooler
1 shot of Cointreau
1/2 shot of raspberry Mickey Finns

Pint glass of ice... Would be sweet enough but the champagne should kill it. I think on a summer day....

Option 2:
1/2 glass champagne
1/2 shot of vodka
1 shot Apple Sourz
Small dash of Raspberry

Pint glass of ice again...
Fully functional White GPvR....
