are straight red fto's lacquered originaly ?any info please

As far as I'm aware, passion red doesn't come with a clearcoat from the factory (hence the tendancy to fade).

I'm pretty sure they are. I've passion red (99) and some of the laquer (think thats what it is)
has started to peel off the back bumper.

thats what i thought !but have been contrictaded on the ftooc about it . as you say how would they fade if they were clearcoated,imposible ,the dude says the ones that fade and scum comes on to your rag when polishing(rag turning red)must have been resprayed Plon**r.dont dought there has been a lot repainted like the other post here but originaly i would sware original they were just 2k

Either the front or rear bumpers are laquered at the factory (why?) or our 99 GX was accident damaged in Japan (unlikely) - on investigation, both bumpers are laquered. Every other panel is flat painted, if you see a peeling bonnet on a passion red, you can be pretty sure its been resprayed.
