Very strange, I was only up with him yesterday collecting the 316. I got the impression he loved the FTO. He even mentioned his wife was considering selling her Hyundai Coupe to buy one.

Not sure but didn't he have two?? I remember reading something about his dad getting a second one very similar to his own, but a mivec. Maybe he's traded up.

hi guys, yes ive got 98 gpx from uk but have'nt seen it yet. dad brought it over lastnight,,,,have to go home this weekend to see her (cant wait) yep i wanted a manual mivec and got one,,,,,,,,as for the missus she wants nice clean fto up in the years as much as possible,99 maybe so we selling her 05 hyundai coupe fx. looks like its in the blood now as fpr the power claim sure ahhhh she's very quick 170 fto lol i think with exhaust and apexi kit its got few more ponies now

anyways im not going away anywhere and will be in action very shortly,,,,,,650 euro vrt first

Thats not too bad. I paid €780iirc on a 96 gpx back in mar/april. Must have dropped in value again since then considering yours is 2 years younger and its €650. About a month before I paid mine I'd have been paying closer to €1000. I waited about 6 weeks until I got the log book and money together to pay the VRT and it dropped about €700 on their book value. Worked out well for me

yeah suppose its good, but when i was checking with vrt guy's they said same price fr all fto's..............thats galway revenue for ya maybe, dunno but have to get done before i drive her, gardai would love to catch me on uk plates im sure I'll post pics as soon as i get her home from dad's garage......cant wait woohooooo mivec .

Your probably better off getting it done before you drive it just to be on the safe side. Not sure what its like in Galway but the garda are out this direction all the time taking cars off people with non-irish regs, tax, and provisional liciences. They have 3 or 4 recovery vehicles just going back and forward brining the cars off to the pound.
I got stopped once in mine, just showed proof I was insured on it and said I was waiting on the log book before I could vrt and tax it. I didn't have any hassle, was just told to make sure I did it asap and was let on my way. Thats not to say all garda would say the same.

Down in Newbridge, the customs do their own checkpoint, checking UK cars and all diesel cars/jeeps for the diesel scams..... I chanced my arm with VRT before, wouldn't do it again, not in this climate,they're out in force now a days!
