Postby gt94 » Sat May 04, 2013 5:12 pm

Just make sure U do pics what goes back where and U'll be grand :) Nothing that hard to do either as the step motor.

If the old bits go to bin, can i have em pls?

****Sorry about pic sizes****
well finally finished took a bit of doing but eventually got the old screw out.

TIP:I heated a screwdriver on the gas hob and created a new slot were it had worn, let it cool and it screwed out.

new screw fitted

cleaned the face and replaced the gasket (it was still in good nick so didn't need to buy one)

little tool i made for those hard to reach stepper screws due to tight space,8mm socket and a old hex key.
Image

i used the bolts i removed from the throttle to plug pipes.

Only surprise i had was when i removed the lower pipes below the throttle, coolant spilled out wasn't expecting that(any engine techs can tell me why). I started engine and adjusted the screw until at 1000rpms. Only thing now the engine management is on but when i press the accelerator pedal it disappears ?

Did U try to pull the trouble codes out of it ? If the CEL comes on the ECU surely store a trouble code!

Didn't change the throttle, just the stepper and the idle screw. Your welcome to the old stepper. Got the engine light sorted it was the tps just had to adjust it running lovely now.

I bought a new stepper and screw. So the stepper might be ok as I don't know if it was the tps or stepper from the start , so I just changed the cheapest thing first.
