This is one of those things that has never been proven in an FTO AFAIK. I was thinking about changing to performance leads not so long ago but I couldn't find conclusive evidence indicating that there are any real gains to be had.

Don't know of any gains either - maybe slightly increased efficency over the standard leads (mpg etc) - but v unlikely to offer any BHP gains - Iridium plugs would IMO be a far better buy for performance improvements in that neck of the woods.

The aftermarket leads would look a lot better than standard though. Its something I'd like to do as well - just have a lot of other things on my list ahead of them.

Not that you'd notice on a GPX, they'll be hidden away under the MIVEC cover ;)

Yes, well, all you mivec users will have the same problem then won't you?

I'm going to stick a lovely set of Blue leads in my yoke along with all the parts Karl is making up for me, your going to wish you didn't have that 'mivec' cover

Good point - I did consider buying these magnecor leads when I bought the Iridiums from camskill - more for engine efficency than anything else - didn't really think about not been able to see them - goes to show some of the most obvious things you can miss.

Let me see, loads of shiny bits under the bonnet or a plain black cover with an extra 30 brake underneath, I know what I'd choose 8)

30 hp is easily achieveable. It will take a bit more than a mivec to top 'the female dog' when she's done!

Go on, you love it!!!

Have you any serious plans for your machine CJ. I know Dave's throwing the turbo into his over Christmas so it's going to take a lot to top him, but what about yourself?

Dave, whats the next step? Nitrous? Huh? Eh?

don't know about the next step, probably camshaft, pistons and stuff like that, but Nos may be an option i would look at so once this is done, engine mods will be a low priority.... probably look at sprucing up the exterior again!

Just out of interest, Larger throttle bodies, will they give you much of a boost?

well apart from turbo RPW recommend, changing the airflow, and fuel and ecu, so basically a mix of changing the headers, down pipes, exhaust, fuel pressure regulators, maybe larger injectors, and a good chip, we're going to use the Greddy piggy back system. throttle bodies are always a good mod, as for power it;s hard to say, but it would obviously be better than standard!

oh for those of you whom may be interested, RPW are working on a supercharger system for the V6's, looking at March before these roll out.
