Volk Racing Wheels TE37 Wheels

Postby Dave » Tue Aug 16, 2005 5:10 pm

Folks,
Marc's newly aquired FTO is fitted with the above but he was getting his car washed in a place in town that used some spray on the alloys, the spray has now corroded the bronze effect on the alloys.
So long story short, the valetors have told him to take a running jump but he has now talked to his solicitor and he has advised him to find out where if possible sells these alloys or someone who could verify that they are real and so on!

So any one know anywhere that stocks these alloys? Preferrably in Ireland.

Cheers

Dave

A quick search just gave me these guys - they may be able to give you a price in any case. http://www.streetperformance.ie/?page=p ... heels-Volk

Otherwise may I suggest powder coating the existing wheels.

I'd be interested to see how this one goes, I wonder did the valeting crew use a whjeel cleaner on the wheels? Soap and water ain't gonna do any damage there....

yeah i know they're worth a few quid alright hence he's gone to a solicitors over the whole situation!

They actually use some sort of spray on the alloys and according to the "manager" up in the place they said they rang the company and they were informed that none of the ingredients in the spray would cause this damage so that's why he told him to take a running jump!

powder coating is a last alternative for him i think.

Dave I am thinking that this is highly unlikely. I would not believe for a second that they actually called the manufacturer in Japan, to check before washing the wheels.
IIRC professional valeters should have insurance cover specifically to cover such misadventures as this. Anyone able to confirm?

i think you may have misread me there, he rang the company who provided the spray!

his insurance would probably cover this alright, but i would say that the company who provided the spray told him to take a running jump so he in turn just told Marc to pis5 off!

What car valet company is that - if you don't want to name and shame can you pm me the name - I'd like to make sure I (and anyone I know) avoids any company that has such p!ss poor attitude to customer relations.
