CALIPERS??

Postby macspratt » Tue Mar 29, 2005 8:03 pm

Hi guys,,After cleaning my calipers a few weeks ago the problem has arose again "squeeking noise"the piston is binding on slightly, the problem came back last night af2 having to break heavy, freed them off tonight and they seem ok again.
think im gona try the seal replacement kit from CAMSKILL ,do u think i shoud change the top and bottom bolt as well??
my bottom bolt is the one that has the cromit on the end,and top bolt has none on,but looking on camskill the top bold should have the gromit on it,or is this so just on the gpx, with the bigger calipers and discs,or has some one been playing about with mine at sometime and got them mixed up??
i was just going to buy the whole new caliper"what the eck"but thinking about it all they are is re con ones, new seals and that etc.
anyway not to bore u to much, hope u can help me out.

TANX ,AIDAN!!!!!!!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS AND GALS!!!!

P.S MINE IS A GR AS REGARDING THE CALIPERS........

If you do decide to go for replacement calipers, I have my old ones for sale. Put on GPX calipers on my GR. Both GR calipers in good condition.

Seemed a good opportunity for a plug!

You shouldn't need to change the caliper bolts, but they are marked (L & G?) and need to go into their respective slots, I can't remember which is which but I know its in the workshop manuals somewhere....
