Six days and counting...........

Postby PT FTO » Wed Jun 15, 2005 11:38 am

Well, its only six days now till I fly over to the UK to pick up my new toy and bring her back home :D . There was a delay in customs for a couple of weeks. Nothing to do with the car, something else on the ship that caught the customs eye which then held everything else up
So, what I need lads is a brief summary of the main things I should look at on the first inspection.

You mean to make sure its road worthy enough to bring home?

All engine fluid levels - oil, water, coolant, power steering, brake fluid, etc.

Be prepared for the battery to be dead, the local shipping guys should be able to jump start it for you but if you have a good spare battery its probably a good idea to bring it along. Mine was dead but wouldn't charge when I collected my car.

Should test tyre pressures, 32 on the front, 30 on the rear IIRC. make sure the tyres are ok, not too worn.

Check that it has all it is supposed to have too, nice stereos, gear knobs, etc. have a tendancy to 'take a wrong turn' on the way over.

You may have a point there! ok, guess you could always buy one there if you need to, but don't be too surprised if the old battery doesn't charge.

They usually have a jumper kit on the ships, even on passenger ferrys.

Ah, you said, it feels like an eternity away. Because of the hold up in customs its just dragged on and on but I'll get there. Just praying that it lives up to my expectations :!: :!:
Have a pic of it but can't seem to attach it to the message, any ideas anyone :?:

Sorry, just found CJ's new Album link, nice job CJ. Have uploaded a pic of my new toy on there under 'PT FTO'. Apologies on the quality but it was taken in the auction house in Japan. Will hopefully post some more when I pick her up on Wednesday
