At least i know now what bits aren't worth doing
Did it cost much for all the spare pieces, wouldn't fancy spending a whole lot on pieces i'll prob leave sitting in the shed!

I had our 2 of our resident breakers come to my rescue there, Steelroe and Seb, they might be able to help you out, Colm might have something too maybe? Its worth getting spares, even if you dont use them, just to have in case something goes wrong, and if you want to bring her back t ostock or anything its a simple fix then.

Fair play to you. Fantastic project you took on. Looks well with your seats as well.

It has given me some ideas but dont think i'd have the patience to see it through....might opt for the sprying option at some time in th future.

Thanks dcfto. Theres a lot of touching up and making better I could do to this but unfortunately havent got the time at the moment, but when I come back in a few years I might go at it again, got bigger plans for a major rehaul of the interior, but thats for another day and is only a pipe dream at the moment.
I'd def recommend spraying, if you dont like the finished product with spraying, then you can respray it or wrap it then in carbon or kevlar or whatever takes your fancy. I spend hours and months at this and am still not entirely 100% satisfied with the finish, maybe if I had an electric sander it would have made it easier and less time consuming, it takes a lot of patience, time, and even thought to make it all work properly.
Saying that, if someone could get a finish as markj113 has got in his carbon project it would be stunning I think.

ur not joking about it been time consuming, I got a bit over eager with the first one or two bits and end up pulling it back off and starting again! :smt013 i was just about to ask would it be ok to use an electric detail sander! i'm waiting on my second coat of lquer to dry, give it on or two more and then i'm getting busy with the sander! Did you use cutting compound when sanding or dry sand paper?

Used wet and dry paper, but if I had more time I'd have finished it off with T-cut or something like that. One of my mates is using an electric sander and has no problems with it, but I'd keep it on a seriously low setting, as low as you can go to be safe!

tried sanding one of the pieces today, it took the shine away completely, even after i polished it back up and gave it a bit of laquer! compared to one of the unsanded pices it was very dull! am i doing something wrong? i'm afraid to go at any of the other bits i done! :(

Sand the lacquer off the two taht are then go over it again with the finest grade of wet paper, then go at it with the T cut. finally give it a couple of thin coats of lacquer, should come up a treat.

Thats what happens unfortunately, they look stunning and then after sanding look so different. Like Gary said, go down through the grades, and finish off with T-Cut, then the laquer, this is what I havent got time to do yet so cant confirm that it will work on my material but for CF lots of fellas have used it.
