Which ones do you use yourself? I have a prefenence for Tein after dirving the Version R with Tein Coilovers. What is the ride like on the Eibach springs? I dont like the way the APEX lower the front a lot more than the back.
Does changing just the springs mess up the ride and handling, does it make it crashy or bottom out easily?
I have a top mix splitter on the front and it rubs the ground regularly so I just increased the profile of the tyres from 40 to 45 (on 215/17's) to fill the arches - if I lowered the car I wouldn't get over a speed bump. I have Tein Coilovers on a Mazda MX5 and they're very hard even at the softest setting. I have driven a GR previously on APEX and I didn't notice much if any difference on my GPX with standard suspension - though the car was a lot lower - however there was getting a lot of rubbing on a standard front spoiler - a top mix splitter would have been a no-go. You'll need to be careful on dropping the car too much - hence the 30mm drop on Eibachs would be a good call.
From talking to Mike in Camskill he thinks the Eibachs give the best compromise between ride quality and handling though the APEX are v good value. I wouldn't worry about lowering the front more than the back - the FTO has a better looking stance IMO in the Wedge shape as opposed to sitting on its hunkers (sic) at the back with an even drop all round.
If you want to deal with an FTO's crashy ride then I'd put in some Polybushes and change the droplinks if neccessary. I found a huge difference in ride quality on the GPX after I had mine done - more secure handling too. If lowering at the same time it may be an idea to get the shortened droplinks from Camskill.
