I just got a quote from QD for...I think 930. 27yrs, 4 ncb, with windscreen cover. It certainly beats my current €1030 policy with €4000 excess! :D

I paid €144 extra to transfer to the FTO until February with eagle star through Britton.
It works out at around €700 for the year, that's for fully comp and a protected NCB.

I'm 29 with a full licence, no points and a full NCB.

Happy days :D

All you can do is ring around and find out... Let us know how you get on...

Bernard, do Britton have a high excess, E4000 I thought?

As far as I know it's €190, I'll check it out, but I'm fairly sure...

As far as I know, large excess figures of €4000 seem limited to policies with Excess Direct and 123.ie

I'd say the lack of NCB will give you a bit of trouble. But QD definitely insure FTOs. They even gave me an online quote!

Would love to know how you managed that, I just tried and got the 2 fingered wave. Already insured with QD, 32 yrs, 4 yrs NCB, FC policy + windscreen cover - 790 euro. Theres some odd figures floating about out there :?

I just entered my details. 28, 5 years NCB, 5 years full license. It was 650 TPFT. 800 comprehensive. plus I paid extra for protecting the no claims. All online. no hassles. maybe you need the maximum no claims (5 or more years?)

Here you go guys. I went and got this quote right now. Online.
The reg, the name, the address are all fake, but the details are the same as mine. 28 year old with 5 yrs no claims. less than 1000euro fully comp, with protected no claims etc.

The only reason I can see you guys can;t get it is the no claim? everything else you have. age / full license etc etc?

I had 2 years no claims and the online system quoted me 1150 TPFT, which incidentally is the policy I have now. ;)
