Anyone know anything about classic car insurance? Like how old the car would need to be to qualify, how easy it is to get, and is it fairly inexpensive (assuming weekend car, low limited mileage, etc)?

I know to qualify for classic road tax the car has to be 30+ years old, but think I read somewhere its usually a bit less than that for insurance purposes.

I got quoted €408 on a Merc 450SL (10,000 kms) fully comp

more sensible cars will be cheaper.

roughly 800 with Karol Nash for the 911... 5k miles a year. Car needs to be 30 years old for classic tax. Insurance is up to the provider... Hash deem Mercs and Porsches that are 15 years old to be "classic".

My favorite car when I was a kid.

You'll need to buy very carefully - if it requires work you'll need to remortage.

I see this one in and out of the garage fairly regularly near where I live -
