Tiptronic adjustments?

Postby aum108 » Fri Mar 14, 2008 10:48 am

Hi,

In my beast, when I have the tiptronic gearbox in auto mode, it seems overly keen to change up to higher gears.

For example, I was doing 50km/h up a hill. When an overtaking lane appeared, I planted the accelerator hard, the box dropped into 2nd and gave me a nice surge of acceleration. But on reaching 70km/h, it jumped into 3rd, much sooner than I wanted.

Is there any way to set the gearbox so that when the accelerator's pressed, it's a bit less keen to change up the gears, or waits till it reaches higher RPM?

Or should I just train myself to use the 'sports mode'?

And another question - the engine seems to be fairly gentle at low revs, with the power band kicking in above 3500rpm. Is that normal?

Cheers
David

Aren't the tip model's ment to learn your own style of driving? :?:
Don't quote me on that now, but I've heard that mentioned a few times before? :?

If that's the case? How long have you got the car?

Yeah the tips "adapt" to your driving style..

Howexactly it works I don't know.. but I'm guessing it collects data from when you control the gears and the apply a similar pattern to when you're in auto-mode..

Tip owners may have a lot more on the subject..

How long do you disconnect for... think I remember it being 30 minutes from my last FTO?? And then how long to re-learn your style? Cheers.
