Fan Belt/Alternator

I've got a screeching coming from the fan belt,but i've also got a rattling noise coming from the alternator... any ideas?

Bearings gone on pulleys? - I've had to replace a couple of mine.

You sure the rattling noise is not just from the pulleys themselves rather than the alternator? When did you last replace the Alternator Tensioner?

probably just the pully's cos i've never changed the tensioner.... is this a case of just getting it tightened?

If its a pulley or tensioner thats rattling then I'd imagine the affected pulley bearings are gone and needs to be replaced rather than tightened.

Theres good piece of mind to be had in just replacing both aircon and PS belts and tensioners - not an expensive job and you won't have to worry about your belt coming off and taking half the ancillarys in the engine bay with it.

I'd say give Mike in Camkill or RiceRocket a call and see what they recommend.
