Brake Pads

Postby RussMan » Fri May 12, 2006 7:10 pm

Hi all,

Went to get pads for both the fto's and the guy in the shop didn't know which ones to give me... was thinking of ordering online as last resort!!
Any suggestions on the best place to pick up 8 sets or pads at all ... as cheap as possible ....???

thanks
Russ

Camskill or RiceRocket should be able to look after you - just remember that while the back pads will be the same you will have different front pads to the GR.

The standard pads are very good value - don't think you will do better than that from any motor factors here - I have greenstuff V4 all round - good pads for standard disks if a little dusty. I used to have greenstuff on the front and standards on the back and that actually worked quite well - the fronts do the vast majority of the braking.

Russman, I needed a set of pads pretty quickly last week and went into Halfrauds in Liffey Valley. They sourced me a set of standard pads from their supplier and I picked them up next day...... all in €28.00. Fitted them that day and all good. Might be usefull to sort you out quickly.
mmmm!! GPX........and its not all mine anymore....:-(

Cheers thats great!!!
Which Halfords did you go to?
I went into halfords the other day for wiper blades and they were useless... i.e couldn't even find a set for me and weren't bothered looking too hard!!
I'll give it a go again for the pads though as dangerously low!!

Thanks again!!!

There's usually a few on ebay floating around.

I have a set of unused standard EBCs for the rear, open to offers

It was Halfords in Liffey Valley. They don't stock them in store but have the parts listed on their computer. Just make sure you get one of the assistants that know what their talking about. The guy I dealt with was good and found the part number on their database very quickly. Ordered it on the Wednesday and they phoned me Thursday lunchtime to tell me they were in.
