Need a new Aerial

Postby Garsa1 » Tue Mar 13, 2007 5:41 pm

Just got a new FTO GR and the external aerial is broke (Snapped in Half), anyone know where I might get a new one? and the half thats left wont retract I think it takes away from the look of the car.

You could try Steelroe or Ricerocket.
But tbh if it was me I'd just fill in the hole completely and give the car a smoother look - you could then just fit one of those internal windscreen or backwindow aerials - its not like the reception is all that from the standard FTO aerial in any case.

Welcome to the forum btw - picked yourself up a nice FTO there

Happened to me before, a freind hit it with a football and I made him buy me a new one. I dont think it was that expensive, around 50 euro. A bit tricky to replace but a good time to clean all the muck and crap out of the assembly. The aerial comes as a seperate piece to the motor.

Aerial

Postby Garsa1 » Wed Mar 14, 2007 11:27 am

Thanks I might just fill it! is it a easy DIY? And I'm worried the motor wont be working if I get a new aerial. Yea the reception sucks but sure I knew that before I bought the car. Now all I have to do is try the hair dryer trick for the condensation building up in my left light pod!

This site is great really a help!! Thx
