Handsfree bluetooth

In light of the fact that you can now get points for using the mobile while driving, can anyone recommend a decent (but not too expensive) bluetooth based handsfree kit?

Hi,
I got a Nokia CK-W1 handsfree car kit and the best advice I can give is don't get one of these unless you want to be tied to using Nokia phones. I've tried both Sony Ericsson and Motorola units with it and both gave really bad echo problems to the person on the other end. It's something to do with Nokia not implementing the bluetooth standard correctly.
I was recommended (too late unfortunately) to go for this.

It's the Parrot CK3100 and works well with all models of phone and has a handy display which puts up the name of the caller. Beleive me that's handy, it's really annoying having the phone in your pocket ringing through on the car kit but not knowing who it is till you start talking to them. (Esp. if it's someone your avoiding!!)

Same one I have. I had a CK3000 in the Xsara and was happy out with it, hence the CK3100 in the FTO.

Oh ya, shop around though, I've found the price on the Parrot stuff can vary quite a bit!

Jaysus, theres seems to be a lot in the Parrot 3100, are the cheapo clip on jobs not much use then?

The Ck3100 is nice & tidy once installed, and depending on your radio you can even pause CDs, etc. At least it did in my Xsara, I have an old Sony head in the FTO with doesn't pause the cd.
Plus its powered from the car, no messing around with batteries or any of that carry on.

Yeah, thats what I'm thinking - I don't want to have to buy one for the FTO and another for the Rex!

From my experiences the cheap options as per normal are a waste of time and money, you'll only end up paying for the proper one in the end. The only cheap solution that I can think of which will allow you and the person your talking with to have a proper conversation is a clip on bluetooth headset for your ear...
