Squeaking clutch pedal

Postby Neil » Thu Dec 08, 2005 4:32 pm

Starting squeaking about a week ago, usually as I release it.

How can I stop this? Is it just a case of throwing a bit of oil somewhere or other or could this be indicative of a problem somewhere?

Its driving me bananas hearing it at every stop/start/gear change!

Happened me before I changed my clutch.
While doing clutch change - I got my mechanic to oil the "selecta" lever coming out of the top of the gearbox - its sits in a rubber boot and gets squeeky when not lubricated.

I get this problem also. Initially it feels like it's inside the cabin but I think it's mainly the 'selecta' thingy rubbing off the rubber housing. A bit of grease can do the trick but not for long!

Yep, just look for the clutch rubber housing that goes into the gearbox at right side of engine. Truthfully, it may not sort it out. I think it's mainly down to climate changes etc as I hav'nt had this squeak for a while now. :?:
