Bonnet gas struts

did anybody tried this ?

will a pair of bootlid struts work ?

is there any info about this upgrade somewhere ?

Have not seen it on FTO but would be well worth it if it worked. Might have a look at suitability tomorrow. Location of the hinges may be a problem.

So Yardie - how many hours work to get your bay looking like that ?

How come you haven't removed the old bonnet holder ?

I added bonnet struts to my Zed - nice add-on for a meet when you are showing the engine bay and useful for when you're tinkering around - believe it or not these were originally meant for a Golf.

I picked up a set of Corsa bootlid struts for a 5er (including shipping) on flea-bay once.. I'm not too sure where they went in the last move, but they're around somewhere... looks like it's fairly easy to do actually..

I imagine the difficulty will lie in the actual brackets that will need to be made up for attaching the strut to the bonnet hinges - you can see them (coloured black) in my above pics.

I did see something on the english site about these. You could ask on there for advice. If I remember correctly someone was selling a set.

i have a set of rear bootlid struts , and i'll give it a shot this weekend if i'm not working to see if they can be addapted or i need smaller struts
