Diagnostic Result Query

Postby sinlessgunner » Sun Mar 16, 2008 3:49 pm

Ok, I done the diagnostic on the car and got:

62. Intake air control valve position sensor

What is this and how do I fix it? Would this have an effect on the stepper and that's why it's not working?

Also after taking out the panel under the steering wheel I found out someone had a lot of fun with the wiring of the car!! Theres cut wiring pipes, insulating tape and wires all over the shop!! I think the alarm system that was installed was done by an amateur, so going to have to sort that lot out soon......

Code 62

Refer to section 15-2 for location of this sensor. Also refer to section 13a-21 for testing of this system.
It is located on the left hand side of the intake manifold and yes it will effect the idling of the engine.

Also take a look at section 13A-25 for a list of the possible causes of different problems.

It is all in there if you do not have the manuals contact CJ and he will give you the links to download them
hope this helps.

Go to section 13A-3 and you will see a very detailed drawing of the Intake and Exhaust system, detailing all the sensors invlovved and their locations.

The sensor and actuator you referred to are to regulate a butterfly valve in the intake.

Will I buy a new sensor then? Where would I get them or what do I do to fix it. It'll be great to not have to buy a new stepper motor if this will solve the problem.

I would test it as per the manual as it could also be a fault in the ECU. I have plenty of them in stock.

Have the manuals but don't have a clue what they're on about haha! Can't even find that bloody sensor...Don't know what I'm looking for. Could this be the reason my car only idles when its warm? The car won't idle at start up I've to warm the engine a little bit first. Hopfully I have sourced the problem and won't need a new stepper...

How much would one of these new sensors be anyway??
