Looking for a Windscreen Washer Pump

Postby Aidan » Fri Jan 08, 2010 10:33 pm

Moved to For Sale - CJ

My washer pump has decided to pack up, more than likely due to over use

Anybody know where I might get hold of one?
Would it be an easy thing to change? (I don't even know where it is)

Very easy to change.. if you face your car the washer bottle is to the right side at the very front of the front wing.

I cant remember if yours has a wiper on the rear window as well but I suspect it doesn't..anyways - pop your head under there and yous see a white-ish plastic water reservoir.. the the bottom of it there's a black thing sortof buried into it. There's a plug on it that you need to detatch - it clicks off as far as I recall - it may be a bit mucky..so bring a glass of water and a toothbrush or something to clean it with..when you have the plug off give it a squirt of wd40 to stop the contacts from corroding..

now from the top of the pump (for the is the bit you've just disconnected) apply a little bit of down and outwards pressure it should kinda "pop" out of the water reservoir...

and if you had water in the waterbottle..you'll now be wet!

take your broken pump with you to halfrauds or a any motor factors and get a replacement - I seem to remember that they're about a tenner a pop..
