Tire wear help

Howdy Folks

I went out yesterday and changed my front brake pads and when i took off the tire it had a lot of wear on the inside that could not be seen without removal,i checked the back tires while i was at it and they are almost identical in wear. I'm thinking the problem is with camber adjustment, i forgot to check for the camber bolts until after i was finished i will check tomorrow.

Can i just replace them (if they are in place) with standard bolts for a gpVr/gpx and be fine or do i need to do more to the rear/front or vice versa.I also dont know if the standard springs are on the car still or they were swapped out at sometime if this matters.

i know its not much to go on but any advice is welcome. Doing the rear pads Saturday so will take some pics then if its fine.

You should really get this professionally measured and tracked - the guys will adjust the camber bolts for you and provide you with printouts before and after the adjustment showing you the tolerances within which they have made the adjustments.

This isn't something you should just guess by going and adjusting the bolts yourself. A full measurement and adjustment will set you back about €60. If you don't do this all of your tyres will continue to wear abnormally like this and you will probably also notice steering wheel judder at about 70mph and upwards with this sort of misalignment.

Car will drive like a new car once it is done though - promise you

Thanks for the reply Kace, yeah the handling isn't great wheel does shudder under speed and heavy braking, will get it look at tomorrow.I just hope thats all it is i want it sorted before i order tires of camskill at the weekend.

I would buy the tyres, get them delivered and then bring them to a place like DTAS where they have all of the fancy tracking equipment and they will do everything for you there in one foul swoop.

Hey dude had that problem with my s2000 last year got new tyres had it tracked and balanced and still no good so in end i bought adjustable camber arms and done the job but got the camper arms fitted and adjusted by proffessional hope you get it sorted anyway

That's just the tracking.
Get them to do it when their changing the tyres. Only takes a few minutes.

Got 4 new 225/35 r18 federals ss595 fitted and tracking done for E440. I thought it was ok for a "budget" tyre as money was tight. Steering is a lot better now shudder gone and grip in dry weather is good havent been in the wet yet but atleast its sorted for my trip to the big smoke for WESTLIFE............ her in doors got tickets
