I would say this problem is more likely related to the amount of recent changes you have made to the engine - it may be fueling - obvious enough this I guess - but I take it you reset the ECU and tried fiddling with the idle control?

i've re-set the ECU alright, haven't done anything to the idle control!

i also noticed this morning, the automatic choke seems to be gone as well!
i started her up and she ticked over around 1000 instead of 1500-2000 as it would have normally in the morning!

Your fuel filter wouldn't cloggged by any chance. Didi you let the petrol run very low at any stage.

someone else mentioned this to me and i haven't checked it!

but i don't know if this would explain the car idling now at lower revs!
