Every time I start the engine, my radar detector says "Welcome, fasten your seatbelt..!" It would be rude to ignore her.. :D
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

I feel uncomfortable without it, even reversing out of the drive.

Will i break the trend a bit here,, as every says it just doesn't feel right not wearing one now but to be perfectly honest if driving just up the road or thereabouts i tend not to put it on:(, if my GF's in the car i never get away with it :), + that little red no seat belt light is just too hard to ignore.

Progressive Insurance in the USA did studies on accident data and found that a significant number if accidents occur in the vicinity of the drivers home. unfortunately I don't know how close that is, but it makes sense that you'll take more risks and drive faster in roads you know, that's when you're most likely to crash.

There's also the reason that those are the roads you'll be on the most anyway, but as you say people would tend to relax and be less careful when they're familiar with the road...

I would feel naked not wearing one.

I also feel weird if I don't turn my lights on too.
