Postby colm_mcm » Mon May 19, 2008 12:47 pm

Anyone replaced one?

do you have to get all this?

or is the bearing available seperately?

I changed them on my turbo starlet very easy all i got was the inners of that pic you have up the silver ring is the bearing.
Like the front set below the gt bearings where separate must be complete set for the rear on a fto.

Make sure you get a lend or buy a torque wrench for the nut someone on here must know the torque. And maybe a new split pin cause my starlet one snapped it was worn a bit though.

You have to replace the entire hub on rear. Only bearing on the front.

FYI ABS and non ABS bearing is the same on rear.

May have to do this myself, I have only noticed it since I fitted the new wheels so maybe its just new tyre noise but it feels a bit too course rather than a tyre hum. Ill fit the camber adjustment bolts first and see if that improves things.
Otherwise I will probably change both rear bearings as they have similar milage on them.
I have just changed droplinks ARB bushes, dogbones etc... so its getting costly

Nah Adam. didn't bother, I have a replacement hub alright. I only really hear the noise on one particular strech of road, it's barely noticable the rest of the time.

Going to buy a Hub cos It is now not really drivable... think the last meet and the connor pass twists did the finishing touches to it

Dont think there is too much to changing one :?: :?:

Ah just what I was looking for :D

I'm guessing you never did this Colm. I'm looking at ordering a hub from ebay because I reckon the rear left one needs replacing. That's just going on the sound though, maybe you could confirm?

Oddly enough the noise was coming from the tyre, once I changed them the noise went.
There is a slight noise from that end alright, but not the same on as was on it :)
