Wheels size-ing!!!!!!

Hey guys,

buying alloys at the mo, looking @ 2nd hand 18"'s but i dont know if they will fit unless i actualy put them when i go to look at them, which isnt an option and all your man who's selling them knows is that they are 5 stud and came off a toyota!!!

any help or suggestions re; alloy sizings or past expierences welcome!!

18's should fit but just be careful of the profile of the tyre. If its 45 or more theres a big chance it'll catch the arches, especially if the car is lowered. Theres something about the offsets too but I dont know about them, do a search for the offsets and it should come up.

Had 18's on my last one. very bumpy. looks nice though.

Yeah, had 18's too, so they will go, just keep to 40 profile.
Think Dave even managed to squeeze a set on 19's on one of his cars?

I have this thing where I reckon GPVRs should be left with standard 16's or lightweight 17's. no point in having the "stripped out" version only to ruin the handling with huge wheels.

ya i agree with with staying with light weight 16's/17's but these 18's are mint and are only 300€ with 90% tyres....cant beat that!

will googles the off sets to see if i can get a hit.....also have apex springs ordered from camskill!

18's will ruin the handling. If that bothers you then don't do it! If you want thge car to be all about the looks then fair enough. I remember mine got very unsettled mid-corner if I hit any imperfections on the road. I also lived in constant fear of potholes and kerbs!

I did the 18inch thing.. didn't like it..

Down to personal taste really..if you don't mind a bit of banging and crashing about about the place - coupled with a bit of rubbing when you're in tight spots then 18s are the business..

if you want drivability stick with a set of 17s or even 16s.
