Postby alloywheelsinternational » Mon Jan 14, 2008 6:30 pm

hi
i am currently looking at a 97 fto gr and the car currently has a problem with the milage display. recently i have been told the milage display has now turned into 3 lines insted of a digital readout.
is this a common problem or does anyone know what this could be?
thanks

Sounds dodgy.
Never heard this happen in an FTO before and i've seen some with big mileages.

There are several companies that specialise in resetting (clocking) these digital odometers - this may be one that didn't work out as planned. Having said that it could be something more innocent but I wouldn't personally take the risk.

Ask the owner if for any reason (like replacing a bulb or fitting stainless dash rings ect) has he had the spedo section out i know of one lad when he replaced his bulbs he started having trouble with his clocks when i had a look i found that all it was down to was the connections on the back weren't fully seated (the connections on the wiring side had slid out of the holders). hope this helps.
