two engine types?

lads can someone tell me wots difference between a DE3A and 6A12 engines,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The 6A12 is the 1998cc V6 Mitsi engine used in a variety of Mitsi models inc the FTO and Galant Vr4 (among others).
The DE3A is the 2L V6 GR/GX/GPX/GPvR etc used in the FTO.

6A12 is an engine code (mivec and non-mivec)
DE3A is the chassis code for all V6 FTO.
DE2A is the chassis code for 1.8 FTO's
