Can't wait to see this thing running!
On a side note, I'm still somewhat confused as to how you can get insured on it. I know guys older than you that are getting refused on standard GPXs.

Well I was thinkin my policy's 3200 on the car vaalued at 7

Why not pa) the bit extra and have it insured for its true value

I thought they'll only pay out on the book value in the event of an accident.
Am I mistaken?

Dont think that mods are insured. They will only insure is at the book open market value of the standard FTO. That is my understanding anyway.

Surely would you not be better off using it as a track/drag car and buy another cheap one as an every day car. The cost of insurance would buy some subtle mods on another car.

If it's with XS direct, what is your excess???

I reckon you'd be better off using it as a track car and getting something small as a run about, the difference on insurance would easily cover even another FTO!! (one of which I may know for sale, a 97 GR for less than 4K)

wouldnt go andf buy another big engined car, would deffo get a nice 1.4-1.6 corolla or something

Sure dan you bought the car to do all this to it so why do it and then only use it as a track car? Ok the insurance is mad, but surely you anticipated this... Dont bother buying another car, it'll just work out the same as insuring the turbo'd FTO if you do anyway...!

i asked quinn this... they will pay for SOME mods such as brakes etc that might affter the selling price of the car they dont pay full price but it is taken into consideration when they make an estimate.... things like carbon bonnets etc are goin to affect how much you get *touch wood* if you had to claim!
