The guilt is killing me

Postby Ray_S » Fri Oct 02, 2009 4:24 pm

Since my poor baby is off the road cause i can't find an inner tie rod removal tool anywhere in the world til like tue I feel so guilty that she's not gettin the attention she deserves so I'm thinkin I'll clean out and maybe colour code the engine bay so does anyone know what could be removed easily to be painted or have any tips on cleaning it. It's pretty much never been cleaned so there's a little rust a lot o dirt and a crap load o oil! She's so pretty she deserves attention. Ha.

Polish the manifold, fuse box cover comes off easily, could replace the caps with RalliArt or painted versions. Slam panel. Hoses. Lots to be done in a bay. Get an engine degreaser first to clean it out and see whats to be done then.

If it doesn't have an induction kit then get one on there - the sound from an ITG or HKS is awesome.
Otherwise - as per Martin - a good degreaser and polish the plenum and you're most of the way there.

Main head or rear manifold? If its the manifold then Colm I think has a guide up on how to replace the rear spark plugs which involves removing the manifold so it should be on there.
