Any chance you could move out and find a new place - there's a shedload of rental properties out there at present and rents are plumetting.

wish I could! saving for a house of our own at the moment and we're not paying rent in the house cause it ownde by family
if i could move i would but i cant!
Think there is a local woman gonna take her she gives irish dogs to dogs trust in the UK so at least she'll get a good home. bringing her out in the morning to see if she can take her!

I share my house with 2 Rottweilers, a King Charles spaniel and a cat - they come first - not the house (and I own my house). I'd sell my house and move before I'd give up any of my dogs.
Tell your landlord to get a life (how is the dog impacting on his/her life exactly) and/or move out so you can give your dog the home it needs.
A dog is for life.

I'm lou's fiance!
Unfortunately, it's my dad's house that we're staying in at the moment, and he hasn't like the dog from day one!:(
I'd love to keep her, but at the moment, we're staying here rent free, and as Lou said, we're saving up for our own place, and paying 500-800 a month for rent, would seriously take a chunk out of our savings each month.
He want's the dog out of here, so i'm afraid there's no other option than re-home her.
honestly am gutted:(

Even if the house was bing paid for rent wise, you'd still have to give a months notice, and then the hassle of moving all your stuff is not an easy thing to do, I've been renting for a good while now and I've accumulated a lot of stuff which I'm finding trouble sorting out in 3 months beofre I move out of here so 2 days isnt an option so I know exactly where Louise and Lee are coming from. I think its harsh that someone would want a dog out of a house, my GF rents with me and we keep her dog in the house 3 nights of the week and I can honestly say I was dubious about it at first but apart from the odd moment of madness of ripping things up when left alone there has been no damage at all and I'm very impressed by the behaviour of her in the house, its changed my mind. I think once an animal is well trained, behaved, and clean, there is no reason they shouldnt be allowed in a house, I've lived with people that are worse trained and behaved to be fair!! I'm looking at places in NZ at the moment and its so hard to find a place that allows animals, I think they should be given the benefit of the doubt. Looking at the dog in the pics its obviously well cared for, well groomed, clean, and that should be all that matters, obviously the family thing makes it tough to conteract the decision but a dog like that will always find a good home. There are lots of people looking to find good well cared dogs, a lot of people nowadays go to rescues to adopt dogs, so I'm sure ye'll find someone closeby that ye can visit the dog or whatever. For what its worth if I wasnt moving abroad in the next couple of months I'd have no problem taking a dog like that, we have 2 at home at the moment from rescue, but unfortunately cant.
Some people arent animal friendly and so is life, just dont give her to someone for the sake of it, make sure its a good home and that she'll be able to be visited, its important for her that she has contact with ye to settle to her new place, once they're 2 they're adults and have become accostumed to you both at this stage.
Good luck with it.
I'll ask my sister in the meantime who works in a vets if she knows a good owner that looking.
Does she have papers and chips and the works??

I met someone looking for a dog yesterday - must be house trained and child friendly. Would this dog fit the bill ?

I know it sounds bad that i would give up my dog that easily. at the moment she is with a lady from town who send dogs over to england to dogs trust. but that may change depending on some interest that has been shown!
The main reason Lee's dad is made us get rid of her is that one of his racing pidgeons was killed in the garden on friday and it was one of his better ones so i can see why he was mad!!! thats not to say Jodie did it because she hasnt a bad bone in her body and has often left crows and the likes eat her food! there is a terrior in the garden with Jodie who is more likely the culprit... but his desision is final really!
And to be fair to him he felt so bad about making me get rid of her that he bought me a mini jack russell puppy that we can have indoors all the time as Jodie was too big for our house (its only a small terrace house and she was too big and bouncy for inside!)
no dog will ever replace my Jodie but little Poppy is tryin hard to fill those big shoes!!!
im hoping thigs work out between the interested party and Jodie cause i would really like to know the person she goes to!!!

Nope - this time it was my brother who ran over the poor mite in the yard. Unfortunately he had his nine lives (and several hundreds of my hard earned Euros) well spent.
