Anyways, back on topic...

Assuming the front bumper was sorted out, with a decent alarm like that, manual, recent service, (and of course the C number plate :P ) I'd say somewhere around 7K.

If you could get your hands on a set of std (or not cheap looking at least) alloys cheap it might be worth throwing them on there, would avoid the bargaining point of not having alloys.

You'd have to factor in the negative impact of a Cork reg though :!:

Don't do it,

You should give Aran Insurance in Harold’s Cross a ring 01-4782020, they quoted me €150 less on my last quote, if your NCT is up-to-date.

Or you could check this out http://www.123.ie/motor/quote_xs.htm. I know it's not polite to ask a woman’s age, but if you’re over 25 they'll insure just about anything for €1,123. The catch is a €4,000 excess, but with your quote you’d have an extra €2,300 in your pocket if the worst was to happen.

2) Mustang 6.5k

Thanks guys! That does help a lot! Does anyone else want to add in there 2 cent worth here?

Can you just confirm whether it is a GS or GR manual?

If a 95 GR manual (completely standard on steel rims) - then approx 6.5K
If a 95 GS manual - I would say about 5.8K is about right.

Its a pity you need to sell - an FTO is not a cheap to run car from any angle except it doesn't really depreciate much.

Thanks MyFTO! I can now confirm that it is actually a GR -- And may God strike me down for saying otherwise!!

1) Kevinod 7k
2) Mustang 6.5k
3) MyFTO 6.5k
4) ?

Looking like 6.5k will be the asking? :(

As regards price, I'm in agreement with the other two 6.5k'ers

I'm sorry to hear that you have to sell agent s, I appreciate that insurance can be crippling for some, that said, I'd be very surprised if you didn't get a better quote that what you're currently paying.

Here's a trick I learnt from me ringing around to all the insurance companies.

Don't Call the main call-center phone monkey numbers. Instead try and look up offices that are outside the capital.

In my case Eaglestar dublin wouldn't touch me, but now I'm insured through eaglestar anyways...Why? Cause I rang the galway office.

As for a quote...I don't think you should sell agent S. Even if you did get another sporty car it just wouldn't be the same. Nothing cooler than a lady in an FTO.

I paid 6350e for my 95 GPX Manual - No alarm - No Fancy bits. Just about 100k km on the ODO.
So yours would be worth more than that...

But hey...

DON'T SELL! It's not worth it..Who wants food and stuff when you can have an FTO.

Look at it. Go sit in your P&J. Do you feel hungry, or do you want to go drive?

You're some joker Neil, its bad enough that she would rather not have to sell the car to begin with and now you're looking for the wind deflectors off of it?

Always ask for more than you're willing to let her go for.

So if you're willing to let her go for 6.5, ask for 7k..

The only situation I can think of where that wouldn't apply; would be if you're selling to another member of this forum.

But then..you shouldnt' sell at all!

I know, i know - didnt think that one would go down too well!!

Agent S just to clarify- thats only IF you have to sell it now, which obviously is a last resort! You should seriously consider a high excess insurance policy as the alternative, thats what I would do if I hadnt paid all mine upfront
I'm the same age as you with virtually the same car and I'm also paying a similiarly crazy amount but the difference is Im a bloke, so I'd be very surprised if you couldnt find a better quote somewhere..

YAAAAAY! Looks like I'm not selling afterall! Thanks for all your kind & wise words! (RussMan also discovered XS insurance for me - get killed if I don't put that one in!!! )

XS going to insure me for €1650 instead!!! Fully Comp etc... WOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOO! Far cry from €3415! Losing my no claims for this year so far, but hey at least I get to keep going to the meets right?! LOL!
