Just update on how things are progressing.

Kit for switch 1 Complete except for pricing.

Kit for Switch 2
I finally worked out a way of doing a kit for FTO's with Switch 2, It can be done th easy way, but would be expensive. So I have gone for the harder way (for me), but less expensive for anyone buying the kit.

Just a few point on the folding mirrors/kit.

Each Kit will fold/unfold the mirrors with the central locking/alarm.
Interior mirror switch will operate as normal (with the key to ACC)
Operation with central locking/alarm will only work with the key turned fully off.
These mirrors are fitted with limit switches as protection, therefore no need to have a secondary switch to disarm the kit.

In the interim a few owners with Switch 2 were complaining thet they had to wait until the mirrors were folded before removing the key.

If anyone wants to be able to fold the mirrors with the key our, simple do the following.

Pop out the mirror switch (put a flat blade screwdriver under the edge and lever it out), There are a number of wires at the rear of the switch. Located the Blue/Red one. This wire is the supply to the mirror switch and is only live with the key turned on. Simply cut this wire approx 3 inches back from the switch (with the key removed). Tape off the end going into the harness, then supply a permanent live +12V to the end attached to the switch (better to have a 10a fuse inline). Replace the switch and you now can fold your mirrors at anytime.
If you do this you will have to return everything to normal before fitting the folding kit

Note to any worriers out there.
If you fold/unfold the mirrors and leave the switch in either fold or unfold position IT WILL NOT CAUSE ANY DAMAGE, limit swiches provided for protection.

One other reason I find the folding mirrors handy is when some F****r is behind you and wont dim his lights. Flip the rear view mirror and fold in the wings and you are no longer blinded.

Thats a good tip for the 12v supply. must try that. I fold the mirrors when they have condensation or frost on them. It clears them quicker by facing them directly into the airflow. I would love elec heated mirrors.
