Dosen't specify but I get the feeling its still FWD, would be cool if it was converted to RWD or 4WD

Not really possible to go RWD or 4WD due to FTO chassis layout.

Nice FTO - could do with some better cosmetic bits to match the go but I do think (despite the bucket of money the pwner spent) that 9495GBP is quite a high asking price.

This FTO woud only sell to a current FTO owner who was considering going down this route.

I red some threads about this car on FTOOC UK, indeed it`s FWD. Interesting example tho...

I thought I read that some guy in malaysia had done an AWD conversion, but it took a floor transplant - which is just plain crazy..sadly it would seem that if you want a rwd or awd car the FTO isn't the way to go...still the one advantage fwd has is that it's easier to manage than RWD (without traction control) if you suffer from heavy feet on twisty tracks...

Impressive. Can't understand why he stuck with the standard brake setup though...

Are the wheel bases of the EVO and the FTO the same???

I would of thought not, similar maybe. There seems to have been a bit of fabrication work to mate the body with the floor...

FTO/Lancer 4/Mirage all the same basic chassis as far as i know so the floor transplant should be straight forward.............straight forward but very hard

Never noticed that he color-coded the brake lines...

If you're going through the bother of doing this MASSIVE project..why not pay attention to details like this? I dont get it..

I think its just a show car, but then again the lambos and redoing the whole floor are done so the big brake should have been done too you'd think. The brakes would have been one of the least expensive parts you'd reckon. Plus I think he used a donor evo for some parts if I remember right so could have used the brakes off that.

A donor EVO III or IV would likely have same front calipers as a GPX.

Edit - the black one does have brembos - its the conv that seems to be running 2 pot brakes.

The car was bought with most of the work done but re-shelled due to chassis rot. As per the advert it does have brembo's.I've got the workshop next door to Ian so know the car & have even raced against & beaten it down the stip :D ( he had the wrong type of tyres & couldn't get it off the line)
And Hi to everyone :smt006

I've been following the build for a while but haven't seen anything new for a good bit.
I presume it's all finished so?

I think theres a bit of confusion going on here. I think redgpx is referring to the FTO in the first post, the link thats going to the FTO Evolution, where as the pic CJ posted is about the FTO Roadster that a guy called Marco is doing in the UK.
Redgpx just said his shop is next to 'Ian', and also referred to the 'advert', so I preusme you're on about the black fto, whereas CJ was disputting the brake setup in the roadster.
