wierd power probs......help

hi every one ...new to the site the club sounds great...
i have got a gs 1.8 whitch starts fine and runs fine but in first and second gear the car will red line but in 3rd 4th and fifth she wont go past 4 thousand rev it like someone turning the car off but when it drops down to 3 and a half tho it picks back up.if i pull over and rev it ,it red lines fine only got prob when under load ,my head is spinning ,checked air flow meter and thats fine plugs are fine ....please help :nwor

To add to Dans suggestions, change the fuel filter, its relatively inexpensive and is not difficult to do on the GS. Check condition of the leads also.

Ive been told today it might be the fuel filter . Where would it be located in under the bonnet or under the car .thanks for helpin guys

Fuel filter is under the bonnet near the bulkhead. Camskill is your friend:

Ok guys here is one for i located the fuel filter cheers lads but i noticed also my car was restricted so i un plugged the speedo sensor and now my car will go to the red line now and not hold back at 4 tho revs . Mind twisting or what any ideas

Assume its a tiptronic Sparton? If so, replace the speed sensor on the gearbox, its a relatively easy job. They've been known to fail from time to time (A diagnostic check will reveal if the sensor is faulty).

No its a manual but i did think that myself but cant find any to plug it in locally

Not sure what you mean here, but if your talking about not being able to find somewhere to do a diagnostic check, you can do it yourself. See the guide here:
