Hi All

Postby dstocks » Thu Nov 04, 2010 11:41 am

Hi All from Sunny Aus...

Bit about me. Im the VP of FTO Australia and also for my sins the owner of Complete FTO. Just added a post on the options codes thread as it appeared on FTO Australia today and seeing as I did a bit of work reverse engineering caps, thought id add my bit.

I have 7 FTO's at the moment, but I think that overall I have now reached around 17 over the years (I wreck the odd one or 2 for parts for club members). My pride and joy is a 1999 Version R Aero.

Anyway, thats enough from me for now...

Good God man, I think you have a problem!!

Wow, we've some members here who have owned several FTO's, but I can't think of anyone who can come close to that! Very impressive.

Can we see even a small collection of your pics?

Any welcome to the club, I'm sure your input will be very welcome!

lol. I seem to get that reaction a lot. The vast majority of those have been stripped. Do have a rather healthy collection of bits and pieces in the shed atm though. Some things just dont move. I think I have 7 or 8 sets of rear seats for example.

Yep, sort of the defacto parts supplier for the club. I also have a contact in Japan who works for Mitsubishi, so get Mitsubishi Trade price on new stuff as well. Also buy the odd thing off Yahoo Japan.

As for piccies, ill dig up a selection. At present I have:

3 im wrecking
1 im turning into a simulator for the computer
My Version R Aero
My wifes daily driver
One in converting into a ute.

Piccies to come

At this stage, ive got to get it on the road. Was originally just going to use it as a property ute, but am now going to try and get it road registered. 2 hurdles to overcome there:

1. Car was a repairable write off when I bought it and hasnt been unregistered for 2 years). I have made the mods since then

2. To make these mods, I will need an engineering certificate.

With these 2 issues to solve, going to try and keep it relatively stock until such time as its registered and on the road. After that, who knows. Am even thinking a lift kit and 4WD might be pretty cool further down the track.

That's a seriously impressive about of work, both to the ute and the vR.

I have to say that's one of the nicest jobs I've ever seen on the rear bumper.
Like all the best mods, it looks like it could have come from the factory like that.

Thanks, took me quite a bit of effort and as I havent done this type of thing before, pretty happy with the result. Having it moulded as well, and will be offering them for sale as a group buy through the Australian club, so you should see a few appearing on the web before too long.
