Front Fog/side lights

Picked up my first FTO yesterday and was checking all the lights tonight. I'm a bit confused about one thing tho.
When i turn the column lighting/indicator stalk one click the lights next to the indicators come on. Are these the fog lights? Nothing comes on on the main headlight unit on one click. When i turn the stalk 2 clicks the headlights come on and when i pull the stalk towards me the main beam on the main headlight unit works fine.
If i turn all the lights off and press the front foglight switch the same lights come on as when i twist the stalk one click, i cant see any warning light on the dash come on to indicate that the fog lights are on either.
Question is, does it sound like everything is working as it should or is something not working right?

That sounds right but there should be a light on the dash when ya stick on your main beam.

position 1 - side lights ( located in the bumper pods )
position 2 - lights come on (main light cluster )
click on pos 2 - full beam (main light cluster)

FOGS: pos 1 + press fog button (bulb located in the bumper pods)

However , FOG light were a factory option , not all FTO's have them , if nothing happens when you turn them on it's one of the following: they are not fitted /the switch is melted /the bulbs are gone.
You can check behind the bumper pod how many bulb holders it has ( if 2 - no FOG model, if 3 - fog's are there) .To remove , just unscrew the bolt in the middle of the cluster .

Thanks for the replies so far boys.
Pressing the fog light switch turns on the side lights but not the fog lights.
Had a look at the fuses and the switch but both look ok. If the switch turns on the fog lights but not the fog lights surely the switch itself is ok?
Gotta try to get the lights out themselves next to check the bulbs.

This is one wicked car!
