Oh you're joking! Tough luck there Aido. Can you recoup some of the costs off your man? Did he say it was in good nick or anything?

He's a sound lad and he's a member new on this forum. He has an FTO himself (a nice one too). He bought this car to salvage parts out of it for himself and to sell some parts out of it too. He didn't know it was wrecked. When we stripped it and we seen there was damage done to the box he looked shocked. I knew the input bearing was gone but I thought that was all it was so I didn't mind too much. I took it to a mechanic today and he said there's that much play on the input shaft, the syncro-meshes are probably wrecked too and the gearbox casing might be pushed outwards around the input shaft because of the amount of play in it so a new bearing wouldn't fit right. I'm gonna take it to a specialist tomorrow to see what they say. Mr Gearbox quoted me €1000 for a build so that's not gonna happen!
