The Hamster almost met his maker wednesday after a test run in a Jet powered Vampire car, very lucky escape

I agree he certainly brings the enterainment to the screen. They haven't said too much about his injuries as of yet, just that he is critical.

He's gone from critical to stable now. He has a great style about him.... best of the 3 on top gear that's for sure...

They are talking of brain injury now, it'll be awhile before the extent of the injuries are revealed. But any kind of Brain trauma isn't healthy but it can also be recoverable from too. So there is hope yet. he certainly won't be rushing back to work

Pretty interesting that, as being the money making organisation that they are, they have said they will not do the program without the trio. I expect the program is now going to come under fire aswell after this accident, already people have been questioning the dangers and safety that the presenters are putting themselves through for show ratings??? But the presenters themselves are backing Top Gear by saying they are very tight when it comes to Health and Safety. It'll be interesting if they show the actual run of "The Vampire"

I suspect that they will have to do a piece on it. If Hammond is OK, They will probably show the run. In any event, it will be the most anticipated piece of the first show.

I hope the guy is ok, the trio have taken a long time to get the format right and the dynamics between them working so I presume that they don't want to break it by doing the show without him unless it becomes really necessary.
I don't thnik that the BBC need worry too much about delaying the show as it isn't really time limited and can be run at any season.

Slightly off the subject, I thought that the last season wasn't as good but it's still a "must see" program. Also, what ever happened to the German girl form the Nurbergring who was supposed to be doing some of Clarkson's driving?
