New MP3 Any Ideas

Postby zacob » Wed Feb 01, 2006 6:49 pm

I've finally decided to replace the radio/cd that comes with the FTO. To be honest the radio never worked correctly even with the FM tuner. The only problem now is I have no idea what to get. I'm not looking for amps ect just a decent MP3 player. Can you get one the also allows the origional 6 cd unit to work. Where's the best place to shop for one. Any ideas really appreciated.

I think I read somewhere that the OEM 6 cd changer is Pioneer, but I could be wrong. It came up on ftooc a while back but I did a search and didn't find it.

tbh I prefer having my cd changer in the boot, you can get changers fairly cheaply on ebay to suit whatever head you buy. Then you have a nice big armrest box to keep junk in!

My car came with the orig 6 CD player in the armrest and an additional 6CD in the boot - both Pioneer but if I was to change for an MP3 then I'd just rip out the old hat stuff and run a single CD player with MP3 and a good Amp and speakers - less weight - better sound.

I just got an FTO the other day. I didn't realise the 6 cd changer in the armrest was standard. Mine is actually missing the cassette pack thingy! which holds the 6 CD's. As far as I know it's still hooked up to the head piece which is Pioneer. Does anyone know where I'ld be able to get a replacement CD cassette pack? (Not surte what it's actually called)
