Brake lights

Hi, I'm hoping some one may be able to help. I have a 95 Mivec with a electrical issue! When I first got the car about three weeks ago it had a problem with the alarm, so I have removed it but I have now noticed that the brakes come on with the key (although they go alittle brighter when I push on the pedal) as I understand it the brakes do operate without the key in the ignition could some thing be wrong in this circuit? I do have an odd short buzzing noise when i turn the ignition on or push the brake pedal which i have norrowed down tolegs right hand side of the engine bay kind of below the outside corner edge of the battery tray?I have also unplugged the brake switch and they still remain on? And traced as much of the wiring that I can and nothing seems to be bare or shorting out, my interior light also flashes on and off but doesn't seem to be a door switch problem? Don't know if the two problems are linked in anyway but I thought I would mention it, anyway sorry for the length of the query bur I'm not sure wg
What I need to check next? ECU maybe?
