F***ing Scum!!

Postby adrian » Wed Feb 15, 2006 10:02 pm

My sisters new BMW (the one I took in from N.I. for her)...her new pride and joy..... well, keyed from front light to back light to day in tesco Maynooth car park. She's gutted, so am I.

What goes thought peoples heads when they do this? How can we protect against this?

I know how you must feel, my last car was keyed all down one side before, no good reason, no excuses, a completely senseless thing to do. €180 it cost me to get it sorted out iirc, and not my fault in the slightest. Last time I parked in that area in the evenings though!

One of the crimes it's almost impossible to catch people for, unless you catch them in the act. I don't understand it though, have these people nothing better to occupy themselves, are their lives that worthless that they have to destroy other people's property?

I guess you guys have asked the centre for any cctv footage they might have?

Same happened to me, really pisses me off this sort of thing. Here's a funny story tho on how to combat the thugs (supposedly true) about a keying incident outside Citibank in the IFSC about 6 years ago. One of the Directors and had driven his Modena 360 outside, and parked it in the loading bay , he was just picking something up. Why he didnt use the underground beats me, but probably he liked showing off his car and it was only for a few mins...Well anyway despite asking security to keep an eye out, when he came out of the building, a load of young Sherriff St lads were sitting on the kerb laughing. He checks out the car being a bit paranoid, and sees its been keyed the full length of the passenger side.
He looks at them, smiles, pulls out his keys and starts keying it even more.
He looks back at them, smiles again, and says “God it’s great to have money”

Its very hard to understand the mentality.
I'd love to know what gobshites like this get out of keying someones car.
Why would you pick a particular car out of a group in a car park though?
Where there any other cars in the vicinity keyed?

CCTV footage was not available....that area not covered. No other cars in the vicinity keys I don't think. I guess theysaw a gleaming BMW, 17 inch alloys, a few extras and thought...em, that looks like something I can't afford. Awful really.
